Use appropriate PPE and rated instruments. De-energize and verify absence of voltage before resistance or continuity work. Live testing is for trained persons following safe procedures.

Use appropriate PPE, recovery practices, ventilation, refrigerant-specific procedures, and applicable rules. Never intentionally vent refrigerant.

Identify refrigerant and follow manufacturer and code requirements for ventilation, leak detection, ignition-source control, transport, and service tools.

Control rotating equipment, hot surfaces, pressure, stored energy, condensate, combustion products, and unstable equipment before testing.

Do not bypass a safety for continued operation. Any permitted temporary diagnostic bypass must be qualified, attended, and removed immediately.
